Wendy Saloman's first collection of poems, Syllables and Leaves , was published by University of Salzburg Press in 1998. Prior to this she had contributed to an anthology of prose poems, A Curious Architecture (Stride Publications, 1996). Her work has appeared in magazines over the years and has also been translated into Estonian. She studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and later, as a mature student, read History of Ideas at Middlesex University, finally opting out to follow her own course of education. Abandoning a career in the theatre, she has spent most of her working life in art galleries. She lives in London with her husband, a ceramic sculptor.
